Since breaking into the Swedish national team in 2011, Jessica Samuelsson has quietly cultivated a reputation as one of the the more dependable full backs in international football.
Jessica, you are soon to enter your fourth tourna-ment with the Sweden WNT, how have you found this preparation in comparison to past tournaments?
I have a really good feeling. We have confidence from the Olym-pics. Compare to the past tournaments I think we are starting from a higher level.
You are having another strong season at club level. What are your thoughts on your career so far and do you ever see yourself leaving Sweden for clubs in Europe or America?
If I think back to the time around five years ago I couldn’t even dream that I would play my fourth tournament in 2017. That’s crazy, now I’m here living my dream. I have even more to devel-op, and my objectives and dreams are getting bigger and big-ger.
To take that next step in my career I might need to change environment to challenge myself. I’d like to try playing in another country one day, but don’t know when yet. I love playing for Linköpings FC, that’s the club in my heart.
But to answer your question clearly, yes I want to play for another club in another country one day.
