Whether it’s scoring goals with with her right foot, the flash of blond hair or the goal celebrations, it is difficult to miss United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) midfielder Megan Rapinoe on a football field.
Since joining the USWNT team in 2006, “Pinoe” has grown to become one of the central figures in arguably the world’s most popular women’s sporting team.
It is a team that this summer will be carrying incredible pressure as hot favourites for a world title they have not claimed in 16 years.
Like many nations, Pinoe and her teammates are in the throes of final preparations for Canada 2015, a tourna-ment that is fast approaching.
